Kelly (Loock) Rodriguez - Class of 1999

Kelly graduated from CCHS in 1999 and received her bachelor’s degree at Point Loma Nazarene University. After graduating she returned to the school that ministered to her throughout her education. Kelly taught World Literature and Honors World Literature for six years while maintaining the ASB advisor position. For the past six years, Kelly has continued to teach Honors World Literature and advise ASB, but she has now added the role of Vice Principal of Staff and Curriculum to her many hats. Kelly loves her job at CCHS and is grateful to be a part of the lives of the students. She believes using your imagination, creativity, leadership and God-gifted skills are important tools that need to be developed in students. One of her favorite parts of her job, other than working with her former teachers, is seeing a student grow and invest in the gifts that God has given them. Teaching both literature and leadership has allowed Kelly to help students find their voice and scaffold their comprehension, analysis, creativity and literacy, several things Kelly feel are waning in today’s technology driven world.  Kelly recently married her husband, Jesus and they currently live in Huntington Beach and are excited about the new adventures that lay ahead.
